DRAFT, and the most consequential page on this site. The wording below only protects you if it describes what each entity actually does. If the Nigerian entity in practice solicits clients, onboards them, or handles client money, describing it as a training and support centre is a misrepresentation that regulators pursue directly — the SEC Nigeria has been active on exactly this structure. Decide which structure you are genuinely running, then make this page say that.
1. Why this page exists
Different companies in the Velton group do different things, and they are authorised differently. Before you open an account you should know which company you are contracting with, which one holds your funds, and what the company you deal with locally is and is not permitted to do.
2. The operating entity
[OPERATING ENTITY — full legal name, country of incorporation, company registration number, registered address, and licence or authorisation status including the regulator and licence number if you hold one. If the entity is not licensed anywhere, say so plainly rather than implying supervision you do not have.]
The operating entity is the counterparty to your trades. It provides the trading platform, holds your trading account, executes your orders and processes your withdrawals through its payment partners.
3. Velton IB Nigeria Limited
[NIGERIAN ENTITY — registration number and registered address.]
Velton IB Nigeria Limited is not a broker and is not licensed to provide brokerage services in Nigeria. It does not hold client funds, does not execute trades, does not act as counterparty to any transaction, and is not authorised to give investment advice.
Velton IB Nigeria Limited provides:
- trader education and training;
- local language customer support for clients of the operating entity;
- general information about the products offered by the operating entity.
If you open a trading account, your contract is with the operating entity named in section 2, under the client agreement — not with Velton IB Nigeria Limited. Deposits are made to the operating entity through its payment partners, and any claim relating to your trading account lies against that entity.
[CONSISTENCY CHECK — if this description is accurate then the Nigerian entity must not appear as the account provider anywhere: not in signup flows, not on deposit pages, not in marketing that solicits account opening, and not on the payment partner’s merchant record. Any one of those contradicts this page.]
4. Which entity you contract with
The entity you contract with is identified during account opening and named in the client agreement you accept. It does not change because you are dealing with local staff or a local office.
5. Where client funds sit
[CLIENT FUNDS — state where client money is held, whether it is segregated from company funds, and with which institutions. Traders check this before depositing, and a page that avoids the question reads as an answer.]
Deposits and withdrawals are processed by third-party payment partners as described in the trading terms.
